Social media marketing for real businesses

Each of my businesses has its own Instagram, TikTok and Facebook presence, and I share what I learn as @fatima_m_jidda. Social media is where most customers first meet a brand — so I treat it as the front door, not a side project.

Content that earns attention

The content that works best is useful: answering the questions people are too shy to ask, showing how things really work, and sharing the lessons — wins and mistakes included.

What I post about

  • Business

How businesses actually get built, boring parts included — what I'm learning while running mine, not theory from a book.

  • Opportunities

Gaps I notice and think are worth someone's time. Sometimes I take them. Sometimes I'd rather you did.

  • Research

What I find when I dig into a market, an industry or a supply chain — before anyone spends money on it.

  • Stories

What actually happened. The wins, the mistakes, and what the mistakes cost me.

  • Marketing

How to get attention honestly, and turn that attention into customers who stay.

  • Sales

Talking to people, understanding what they really need, and closing without pretending to be someone else.

  • Innovation

New ways of solving old problems — especially where the old way is still somehow normal.

  • Entrepreneurship

What starting something is really like, from someone in the middle of doing it — not looking back from the finish line.

One message, adapted per platform

TikTok rewards short, direct stories. Instagram is where people check whether you are real. LinkedIn is for partners and professionals. Facebook still reaches families making decisions together. The message stays the same; the format changes.

Followers are not customers

A follower becomes a customer when you make the next step obvious: a clear offer, a fast reply, a simple way to reach you. Every post should make that step a little easier.

Questions people ask me about social media

Which social media platform is best for a business?

The one your customers already use. Instagram and TikTok for visual and lifestyle services, LinkedIn for partnerships and B2B, Facebook for community and family decisions. Start with one or two and do them well.

How often should a business post on social media?

As often as you can post something genuinely useful — and keep it consistent. A steady rhythm you can maintain matters more than posting every day for two weeks and then stopping.

How do I grow a personal brand on social media?

Share what you actually do and learn, in your own voice. People follow people who are useful and honest — not perfect.
