Research before money
Checking whether the demand is real before anyone spends money on it is the step most people skip. I study markets, industries and supply chains — including where products are actually made and how they move — before deciding what is worth building.
The ecosystem a business needs
Investors
Money, and ideally people who have already done it and will tell you the truth.
Suppliers
Where your product or materials really come from. Get this wrong and nothing else matters.
Manufacturers
Who makes it, at what quality, at what quantity, and how consistently.
Engineers
The people who build the thing the business actually runs on.
Developers
Turning your process into software, so it can grow past what you can do by hand.
Designers
Making it clear, usable and worth trusting — before someone decides in three seconds.
Marketers
Getting the right people to hear about it, not just more people.
Accountants
Clean books. This is what makes you legal, fundable, and calm at night.
Lawyers
Contracts, registration and protection — arranged before you need them, not after.
Industry experts
People who already know where the traps are, so you don't pay to discover them.
Technology
The systems that hold all of the above together as one working thing.
Strategic partners
Businesses that grow when you grow, so helping you is in their own interest.
Growth only after it works
Growth is repeating what works — but only once you are certain it works. Scaling something unproven just makes the problems bigger and more expensive.
Clean books, clear numbers and knowing what it costs to serve one customer are what turn a promising business into one people can invest in.
Questions people ask me about business
What does business development actually mean?
It is the work of creating long-term value for a business through customers, partnerships, new markets and better systems. In practice it is research, relationships and a lot of follow-up.
What is the difference between business development and sales?
Sales closes a specific deal. Business development builds the conditions for many deals: the right partners, the right markets, the right offer.
How do I prepare my business for investors?
Keep clean books, know your numbers, understand what it costs to serve one customer, and have a clear structure. Prepared businesses get funded; promising but messy ones usually wait.
